@bugaevc This is hardcore unix porn.
I'm late to the party, but I've been doing a lot of Shopify app development with C# the past week (and this coming week). Diggin it
@kelbot It took me like 10 years to finally land on Arch Linux, and another 8ish to land on i3 :)
For anyone concerned about git repos on sr.ht being wiped by a bad actor's git push, just thought I'd set your minds at ease. git.sr.ht DOES use the same gc process as Gitlab, which means objects are removed as soon as you delete them, BUT I also take a full (encrypted) backup of all git repos every 5 minutes. I can restore anything from any point in time in cases like this. Same applies to hg.sr.ht.
Guix 1.0 is out at last! YEAH!
It even includes a "graphical" (read, curses-like) installer now! (The oldschool DIY route is still available if you like that though!) Lots of other stuff too!
Congrats Guix team!
I'm posting this from the terminal
@dwc What is "Brutalon"? I can't seem to find that via ddg
Status update, April 2019
@angristan lol idk what that emoji means, but I'll assume it means "oh lord, yet another node module"
@angristan Yea, assuming your PHP application is sane, it's using `password_hash()` to make the hash in the DB. That is just a standard bcrypt with a salt. So you should definitely be able to recreate PHP's `password_verify()` (https://www.php.net/manual/en/function.password-verify.php) in node. Honestly I'd be surprised if there wasn't already a Node module to do that lol. Maybe I'll make one if it doesn't already exist 🤔
Well it seems like over half of all Telegram users hate this feature. Durov (CEO) released a poll on his channel asking users if they like it and want to keep it or if they hate it and want it removed.
If you use Telegram, please vote to keep it. Complete control over your digital footprint is something that I, personally, think is essential and the fact that Telegram lets you have this much control says a lot about the platform.
There are still a few things it lacks like cross-platform encryption by default and not requiring a phone number for registration but this is a major step in the right direction.
@jordyd well that doesn't make sense at all
@JordiGH Yea, good point. I've given up on fighting the "adwar". Good luck.
@JordiGH that sucks. I don't use Quora so this is easy for me to say: don't use Quora 😜
@JordiGH This is more and more becoming common practice. I've started using pi-hole on my home network, which helps a lot.
